Bose Replaces the QC2 with the QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Reduction Headphones

Bose announced the introduction of its latest headphones, the state-of-the-art QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Canceling. They are the result of over 30 years of Bose research and development in noise reduction technology. To make my point, I must mention that its research reached the point where it made for breakthroughs in military application, pilots and consumers.

Engineering was also taken to the top, benefiting from the evolution in both active and passive noise reduction technologies, the QC 15 provide the best possible attenuation in louder environments on a wider frequency range, while making no compromise in the audio quality and ergonomics, thus keeping the comfortable fit that is the signature of the QuietComfort headphone series.

“We believe the QuietComfort 15 headphones offer a combination of benefits unmatched in the industry,” said Sean Garrett, general manager of the Bose Noise Reduction Technology Group.

“We’ve applied our research in noise reduction using an integrated systems approach – an approach as proprietary as our technologies. It requires meticulous engineering to ensure all elements of the headphone work together to achieve our very ambitious performance requirements.”

One single AAA battery will provide the QC15 headphones with an approximate 35-hour usage, with a five-hour remaining notification via flashing of the on/off button. A nice feature is the Bose proprietary equalization technology that electronically adjusts the frequency response of the headphone to ensure an accurate instrument and vocal reproduction. The bass boost is guaranteed by the TriPort acoustic headphone structure that incorporates small ports in the earcups that deliver the low noted naturally rather than an artificial “bass boost.”
Replacing the QC2, the QuiteComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Canceling headphones will be available starting today, in silver, with a $299.95 price tag.
